Moxie Teenz - Series 2

I usually have been staying home on Thursdays,
but today I needed to go out and pay a bill. So
I decided while I was out I would to go
to another Wal-Mart
(I haven't been to this one in ages).  Wanted to see
if they had the LIV "It's My Nature" dolls on sale or
any other outfits or accessories.
There were no "It's My Nature" dolls to be found, but
I was able to pick up two other outfits.
 A Party Dress
Sailing Outfit.

At this Wal-Mart, they had no new LIV dolls.  They had
The Barbie Jeans Basic dolls priced at 15.00. (The store I
usually go to never got the Barbie Jeans Basics) They
also had some S.I.S. dolls which the other two Wal-Marts I go to don't.
(Neither do Target or TRU's)
But going down the aisle I saw something that I have
wanted for awhile.  I had gotten the Moxie Teenz Bijou No 2 many months
ago.  But it seems like all the stores (Target, TRU's and Wal-Mart) never
got any of the other dolls in the series.  I thought it was a lost cause since
I wasn't going to buy them on E-Bay for double the price.
There they were, Tristen and Melrose.  But no Arizona. And you
know I wasn't going to leave the store without them.
Tristen
I love her glasses!

What bothers me is that I have to go all over the place to find
dolls that I want to buy.  Well, there is one more Wal-Mart that
I can go to.  Maybe Sunday?

Liv Purchases

During the past month I have been looking at
the clearance aisle in Wal-Mart. Picked up
a few Liv items. Hopefully they will soon have
a 50% off their clearance items.
One accessory set.
Has laptop, case, ipod, cell phone.
a desert, glass and a tray.

3 different outfits.  I love the multicolored jacket.
Too bad they don't make it in my size.
Liv
It's My Nature
Spin Master
2010
Made in China
She was $5.00.  The others in the series were
still priced 19.97 and were in the Clearance Aisle.
Wasn't 19.97 the original price?
I even scanned the boxes to make sure.
I would have bought the others if they were priced
the same as Sophie.

Lane Hope Chest with Totsy Clothes

A few years back on E-Bay I purchased
a Lane Hope Chest with 5 different Totsy outfits, accessories and a
standing mirror. (Can't find my mirror)
From what I have read, it was sold thru the Sears Catalog in
1988/89.  I have seen different sets. One for college,
another for winter. On the flyer that was enclosed in the Lane chest you
could order other clothes.

The clothes fits the Fashionista Body.  There are earrings, shoes, stockings and other
accessories included.  Some of the shoes don't fit well. Others are okay.
Emily Anne decided she wanted to try on the outfits.
The wedding dress. The heels kept falling off.
The veil had a headband that would not  stay on her head.
Swim Suit and accessories
Bathing suit cover up
Evening Clothes
Hate the large bow on her shoulder.
Daywear
Night Clothes

Clothes are marked Made in China.
A few months ago I found an unopened pack of 7 outfits, which I
am assuming that they might be from doll clothes that were
sold thru the Sears Catalog, or from Totsy mail order.
They have the same type of accessories included.
Will have one of the ladies model those in a future post.

My First Re-body!

Today was the day I was going to try and
re-body the doll that I posted about a few days ago.
I read over the hints, and thought I would try
the hot water suggestion first.  That didn't seem to
work since I think my water isn't hot enough.
So I commandeered my youngest daughter's
blow dryer and started heating the neck of the blond.
Well, I started getting frustrated.  I was using my nail file
and it kept bending.  I was going to give up trying to get
the head off. until I saw my daughters bobby pins.
Heated up the neck again and worked with the
bobby pins at getting the head off!
Success!
Then I worked on the other doll which took less time than the first.
Popped the head on the new articulated body!
My first re-body done.
Here's how Emily Anne looks with her new body.
She is very pleased with the results.
Thanks to Ms. Leo, Dollz4Moi, Niel, and Cat for their helpful
hints and for giving me the confidence to try and re-body!

Crocheted Doll Outfits Video

I promised to make a video of
the other dolls with their crocheted
outfits that I bought the other day
at the Thrift Store.

Today's Thrift Store find - Crochet Doll Clothes

Haven't been finding too much at the
Thrift Store lately.  Today was a different
story.  I decided to go when it first opened.
On the racks, I saw dolls dressed  in crocheted doll
clothes.  At first I thought, I didn't need any more
Blond Barbies or clones, but then the clothes were unique.
I could always take the clothes off and get rid of the
dolls.  So I put two in my cart and then went down
another aisle and there were a few more.
Then I started looking more closely at the dolls.
I realized some of these dolls were older Integrity Dolls.
They were all over the store.  I wound up with twelve dolls.
I am only going to post pictures of one of the dolls and will
try to do a video of the others.
Oriental type of outfit
All the clothes are removable.  Who ever made
these put snaps on the clothes.
Underneath are a pair of crocheted black pants.
The sandals reminded me that my fellow
doll bloggers have been talking about the
sandals that another doll blogger makes.
makes sandals for her dolls using other materials.
From what I hear she is going to have a tutorial
on her blog on how she makes her sandals sometime
in September.  Check out the other tutorials on
her site.  They are wonderful.  Clear, precise
directions.
The link again is:

Side view of sandals
Bottom view of sandals.
The person who made the sandals glued them
to Barbie's feet.  Have to try and remove them.
If you know how to crochet, these sandals look
easy enough to make.

Question: Does anyone crochet?  I was wondering if I could
hand wash the clothes and dry them flat.  The woman used crochet thread to make
the clothes.

Hopefully will work on the video this weekend to show the other
outfits and dolls I bought today.

Need hints on how to rebody a doll

Now that I have deboxed a doll, I am going
to need some hints on how to rebody.
Am a little apprehensive about trying it.
Worry that I may break the neck post.
So I am asking for hints on the best way
to rebody.
I have this doll.  She is articulated but nothing special.
Barbie Cheerleader
I finally found a doll today at the Thrift Store that
would look better with an articulated body.
She was found nude so I gave her one
of the ladies robes for the picture.
She is a good match for the articulated body
My main question is how do I get off the heads
without breaking the posts.
And are they easy to get back on the new bodies?
Do you think I can do this?
Will post pictures when the operation is done.
