Been Lazy, but........

I have been lazy since I am coming
off the steroids.
On Friday, I am going to the Radition Oncologist
to see if the radiation worked.  My brother is taking me over.
to the hospital.  I always like when I am getting news that somebody who
understands more than I do medically comes with me.
My girlfriend called me during the week from Maine.
She was on vacation.
She found a Tuesday Morning.  And is always on the
lookout for dolls for me.
This time she picked up for me.
Sinatra, Elvis and Grace Kelly
and 2 RocaWear 1st.ed?  articulated dolls.
Jayla and Chandra
from 2009.
Why is Jayla renamed Grace?
Does anyone know?
Here is Jayla.

Here is Chandra.
Check out your Tuesday Morning Stores in your area.
Great price @ 10.00 for articulated AA Dolls

Are you looking for Elvis or Sinatra Barbie?

This has been bothering me for days.
I remember reading that someone was looking for
the Elvis Barbie.

I found Elvis Barbie and Sinatra Barbie being sold online at Tuesday Morning
for twenty dollars.

They are also selling the Grace Kelly Bride Doll for $99.00.
Don't know if that is a good price or not.

Happy Hunting!

Also looking for a MH  Gil Webber doll for a friend.   (Retail price).  She gave her's away to a grandmother
who wanted it for her grandchild.   If anyone sees one, let me know, Will pay all shipping charges and
some extra for gas and your effort.

 Thanks so much!!!!!!

Appreciate it!

If I can do the same for you, please let me know what you are looking for.

HUGS!

The Rumors are Flying....

The rumors have been flying
since Tierra has been seen
here at  Thrift Store dolls.
Let's take a peek at what is
being said
at Lucy Lu's Beauty Salon.
Lucy: So what are we going to do today, Barb?
Barb: Just a wash and set.
Lucy: So have you ladies heard about Tierra?
Barb: What's up with that?

Becca: Well rumor has it that the Chynadolls are
breaking up.

Artsy: Well, maybe she is just taking a break. There is
so much stress with touring.
Barb: Could be Artsy
Lucy: Bend your head back a little more.

 Lucy: All done.
Barb: Is Tierra's boyfriend Jamal going to join her here?

Lucy: I heard that they might be breaking up?
Who's next.

Meanwhile at a small cafe on the other
side of town.

Tierra is looking over some music that
her manager Tristan gave her.
Tierra is thinking:  Am I making the right decision?

Doll Project

I decided to attempt to try to scalp
a doll all by myself to get her
ready for a flocking.
Here is how it went

A willing victim

After the first cut

Getting close to the scalp

Took off her head

Cutting off the prongs
Tip from Dollz4Moi and Chynadoll

Head is ready to take off the remaining hair.

Finished removing hair
Head is back on body.

Close up of face.

I had great teachers!
Thanks Chynadoll and Dollz4Moi!

Question......

Do you get the face repainted first
before flocking?

Haven't purchased the flock yet, would like my fellow
doll collectors to help decide what color flock
should I buy?

There are 31 different colors, should she be conservative,
or should she go wild?

Help her decide....

Here's the link to the colors

Also I made an attempt to make a pillow.
Made this last night when I should have been asleep.
Eyes are not as good as they used to be.

Didn't turn out well.
Will have to try and make another
during the daylight hours.
Also need to get some ribbon to make
ties to go around the chair.

Stardolls

With all the posts on the Stardolls,
today I thought I would stop and see
if my Toy's R Us had them.
When I got there, found them on a bottom
shelf in the Barbie Aisle.
They had most of them but the one in the
yellow top was not there.
I decided to buy the following two

I picked up the Asian Stardoll
(Called Style4 on the TRU's website)
because of William's Post.

Kind of Goth looking.

Very Special Project

Ken and Barbie Fashionistas
Mattel 2009
Made in China
My older daughter KT is getting married in February, so I thought I would find a bride and groom
doll to surprise her at her bridal shower. At first I thought I would buy an all ready made couple from E-Bay. But then had the idea of getting a Barbie and Ken doll and dress them up with a complete wardrobe.
They had to be the right dolls. Chris has blond hair and KT is a brunette.  I knew I wanted the Fashionistas
Ken was easier to find then the brunette Barbie.
Now I am on the hunt for the wardrobe and a pair of glasses for Barbie.  I don't sew (I probably could, but there is a story behind why I don't) Will save that story for another day. KT's future mother-in-law has told me that KT said to her that I would probably do some crazy thing like this.  KT does not share my passion for dolls. (Neither does my younger daughter).
Any ideas on what to include with the Bride and Groom would greatly be appreciated.

Doll Gowns

Thought I would write today about some of the doll gowns I found in that tub of goodies.  Some were easy to find who they belong too, others I don't have a clue.
This gown belongs to Rapunzel which was put out by Mattel in 2002.
Anneliese's gown from the Prince & The Pauper series.  Mattel produced this doll in 2004.

Gown marked with Barbie pink label and Disney label.  Assuming since it is yellow, it probably belongs to Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Can't find a photo of it.  Mattel did make the same style of dress in the series Butterfly Princess in 1995.  It came with a magnetic wand which when moved over the dress the wings would flutter.
UPDATE: Flutter Fantasy Belle from early 2000's
I saw a photo of this gown on a deboxed Sleeping Beauty Doll.  Gown has a Barbie Pink Label. No other information available.
Gown marked Disney.  Most likely from a Cinderella Doll.
UPDATE: From Early 2000's
I have no idea who this gown belongs to. It is factory made.  There is no label.  Most likely it is not from a well known doll manufacturer.  Any ideas?
UPDATE: Gown is from
Anastasia & Dimitri Always and Forever doll gift set
Galoob 1987

Halloween Barbie

Enchanted Halloween Barbie was produced by Mattel in 2000,  This was one of the goodies that was in the surprise tub of dolls my co-worker found for me.  Her outfit was complete, except she was missing her boots. Gave her a new pair of black boots which I found the week before at a garage sale.  She is also missing her trick or treat bag.

Spring Tea Party Barbie

Spring Tea Party Barbie was put out by Avon in 1997.  She was third in the series.  Spring Tea Party Barbie also came in an African American version and a brunette hair version.   If I remember correctly I added a pair of light celery green heels to complete her outfit.  She was in very good condition when found.  No TLC needed.

Teresa

Another of my Saturday finds.   Teresa came dressed in the outfit she is wearing and her earrings. Missing her shoes. Gave her black sneakers.  Fixed her hair.  The student desk was also one of the goodies I found.

Valentine Barbie?

This is another Barbie I found today at the Thrift Store.  She is in very good condition also.  Was probably never played with. Not sure if this is a Valentine Barbie or not.   Doll is marked Malaysia, so I know that she was sold sometime after 1986. She has a twist waist with bendable legs.  There is a heart on her dress. Looked for a Barbie label on the dress but there wasn't one.  Also she had no shoes so I found her a pair of white heels. Does anyone recognize her?
UPDATE: Barbie which was found in a Grocery Store in 1993.  Called "Red Romance".

Mermaid Barbie

Found Mermaid Barbie today at the Thrift Store along with a lot of other goodies.  She was the first Barbie Doll sold as a Mermaid.   First appeared in 1992.   Icy water makes rainbow colors in her hair, but I didn't try to see if it worked. I just happened to lift her ponytail and underneath is a braid which you can see the  red and blue streaks coming through.  She also has strands of that translucent type tinsel hair. When I took her out of the plastic bag they had her in, I was surprised to see the fantastic condition she was in.  Looks like she was never played with.   Missing her shoes, so I found a pair of white shoes for her. The only flaw I found was a piece of tape stuck to her back, when I took it off it left some glue residue. Also I have to remember to change the rubber band in her braid which is brittle.

Wedding Dress Shopping

Christie and Rupa (DOTW India) were found naked at the Thrift Store.  Both came with their jewelry.  Rupa's hair was in tight braids but half of them were were coming undone, so I took them all out.  Christie's hair was perfect, only needed to put a comb through it. Today I decided to dress  them in wedding gowns that I had found a few months before.  Christie picked out a pink label Barbie original. Rupa, found the Disney gown to be the perfect one.
