Fashionista Sassy - In the Spotlight

Last Friday, Toy's R Us by me had a grand
opening sale. (They took over another empty store and
added a Babies R Us and renovated the whole store)
I was sent in the mail a coupon for $5.00 off any 25.00 purchase.
Also they had an offer of one free 6.99 Barbie outfit with a purchase
of a Barbie doll over $10.00,
So I bought the Bratz Thad and Sassy from In the Spotlight.

This is the free outfit I picked out.

But wait a minute, I had an ulterior motive
for buying Sassy.
I was going to debox her.  Since I couldn't
find any articulated bodies at the Thrift Store, I needed
a lady to model some of the clothes I have.
Most of you know, I have this fear of deboxing dolls.
(I did once for my older daughter's wedding)
This time, I really wanted to debox.
Out of her plastic prison.
Pain in the neck trying to get her out of the packaging.
Finally out of the box.
That wasn't that bad.
Her name is Tina.
She will be the model for any new outfits.
Will I ever debox  another doll?
Only time will tell.

PS.  If you're on Facebook, Like Toy's R Us and you will
get a 20% off coupon on any one regular priced toy item
One time, single use only  Valid till September 4th.
Wonder what I could buy?

Labor Day Weekend - New Dolls

Happy Labor Day to all my U.S. readers. Hope your day was as beautiful as it was here in the Northeast.
Going back to work tomorrow.  I had a great summer looking for dolls!
Saturday, I went to lunch with my cousin and her friend. Since we were having lunch in the same mall as there was a Toy's R Us, I took a quick visit in and found.....

Bratz - Sasha

Today I went over to Wal-Mart to see what they had. And found...

Fashionista Sporty

Today I was able to get out of the house early for a change.  Went to the Flea Market, but only picked up a Jade Bratz with some clothes.  So my big decision for the day was which way to go the the thrift shop.  Did I want to stop at Target or Toys R Us?   TRU's won.  I knew two of the new Barbie Basic dolls were out. They are Collection 001.5  Model 13 and 6.  But TRU's didn't have them. So I walked down  the aisle and saw the Sporty Barbie Fashionista. (2009).  Thought that would satisfy my disappointment of not finding the new Barbie Basic.  So I picked it up, turned around and saw something that I have seen in articles and I wanted.  Thought I would only take one, but wound up getting them all for fear that if I didn't get them today
they would be harder to find weeks later. So I walked out of TRU's  with 4 new dolls, the gift set and the brunette Fashionista.  Off to the thrift store. Will post pictures of my new dolls tomorrow.

3 New Dolls

Besides work being a little crazy today, hearing that Johnny Maestro, lead singer of one of my favorite oldies groups "The Brooklyn Bridge" passed away made me sad, so when leaving for home, I remembered somewhere deep in the recesses of my purse, I still had some Christmas money tucked away. I.thought why not stop at the local department store and treat myself..  So I picked up "I can be  Rock Star Barbie", (I liked the outfit)  A Fashionista Barbie, and a Barbie Basics No. 9. Feeling a lot better.

Mattel Danish Modern Furniture

The three pieces of furniture are from the 1958 Mattel Danish Modern Collection. This collection was pre-Barbie.  All are marked Japan.  Found these at the Thrift store all together at a great low price.  Missing were the cushions for the chair and couch.  Whoever had owned this furniture before me kept it in very good condition.
The Barbie in the blue dress I am assuming may be a Fashion Fever.  Found with the blue dress she has on but was missing her shoes.
Update: The Barbie in the blue dress is a Fashion Fever Doll from the Sweets Collection Wave Aqua Party Missing her blue pumps and aqua blue present clutch purse.

Fashionista Barbie

Fashionista Girly Barbie.  Missing her pocketbook and necklace.  Was surprised to find a newer Barbie with clothes in very good condition at the Thrift Store. I love how you are able to pose her.
