Strange Happenings

Been home from the hospital since last Saturday, but been too tired to post.
I got the problem taken care of on May 9th, but the day of the operation I heard this song
by John Lennon from 1974.  To me it seemed like a sign sent from John Lennon that it would be alright.
Had my daughter Katie Look up the song, she found it. 1974 was the year I got my
teaching degree.  Also May is the fifth month and will be 60 at the end of the month
It's called Dream # 9

Everything is alright. Drs. are amazed that I have lasted 7 1/2 years with
the original cancer with nothing major going wrong until now.

On Tuesday the 29th, I will be starting radiation on my head.  I will be getting 2 types.
Usually you get one but as I said my Drs feel I can handle it.  One is whole brain
radiation and the other is the gamma knife to go after certain things that may cause
a problem.

The only problem the drs see is that I am going to loose all my hair this time.
Any suggestions on what I should wear on my head?

Would also like to commission someone to do a doll for me of John"s wife. YOKO
Anyone up for a challenge?   If you are, leave a comment!

Thanks!

  1. I'm really sorry to hear that. I don't know what it feels like, but I have had close family members deal with something like this. I pray you will recover soon. How about a bob wig? I always think they look pretty cute!

  2. I'm glad you posted--I had wondered where you were.

I think a rerooted Olsen twin doll would make a good Yoko--I believe it was Niel's Doll Room that had an olsen twin rerooted to be, IIRC, Corazon Aquino. His website is gone so I can't find a pic:(

  3. I'm sorry to hear about eberything that you have been going through. I'm glad the doctors know your are strong enough to handle it but you already know how strong you are. Don't even worry about your hair, it will grow back. If you choose to wear a wig, get several!! Each will showcase a different you. Please do take it easy, when your need to take it easy and rest, do just that rest. I will send prayer and hugs out to your for a speedy recovery. You take care.

  4. Hey Frannie! So glad to see a post from you! As far as your hair, I agree with Brini... If you want wigs then get several so you can change up and have a variety. Also there are really pretty head wraps out there! Your one tough woman so I know you will fight this! Hampton and I are continuing to pray for your recovery. Take care of yourself, get all the rest you need and remember I am just a phone call away for whatever, whenever! Hugs my friend :)

  5. Hey Frannie, so sorry you have been so ill. I'm also glad your a fighter. I agree with some of the others. You can wear wigs or there are some wraps made of beautiful material out there as well. You can pull either style off. You take care of yourself. I will also add my prayers and positive thoughts to others. Give Cecile a call so she can update me. Huge hugs to you, Anika :O)

  6. Oh Frannie! I was afraid your absence was somehow related to the cancer. I was praying for you. Glad to see a post from you. Just this morning you were in my thoughts. I will continue to pray for you. There is power in prayer. As for wigs, make sure you remember to buy a red one. Red heads are hot! Please keep us posted when you can.

  7. Oh Frannie! There must be a rough patch. Thank God you have your daughter and nice people with you. I´m sure, as in that song, everything will be all right.
A close friend of mine chose a completely natural, short and very chic looking wig on a natural color (it has even highlights, quite expensive, but it´s really worth it). She is still gorgeous on it. It´s like nothing happened to her. I send you my prayers and good vibes as well.

  8. Hi Frannie! So glad to hear from you. I have also missed you. I pray for good health for you. The great things about wigs is that they are so fun and versatile. You can pretty much go with whatever style you like. Try several and select a few. Go with a look/cut/style you've always wanted, but was to afraid to try. Take care Frannie and yes, rest is a must. Hugs))))))

  10. So glad to hear from you Frannie. I shave my head by choice now, but way back when, I had an assortment of wigs, hats and scarves. Wigs are great in the winter, but during the summer months they are hotter than a mofo. You can get scarves that have extensions sewn in the back or the front if you are a bangs kind of girl. You can also get hair tracks and do this yourself to your favorite scarves.

I don't have the wigs anymore, but one thing I kept were my hats. Some women feel they aren't "hat women," but they worked for me and they come in all types.

Good luck to you Frannie and I'll be thinking of you.

  12. Hello from Spain: I was very happy to see your new updates on your blog. Also Iwas speechless when I read that you're sick. Anyway you're a feisty young woman and you'll see as you recover soon. Do not worry about hair loss regrowthlater. Temporarily you buy a wig with long hair or hair that you always liked. Encouragement and to know where to found to me what you want. Please keep us posted when you can. Keep in touch.
